Freddie Starr re-arrested by Jimmy Savile police on fresh allegations of sexual abuse
He was arrested by members of Operation Yewtree, the investigation set up after allegations of abuse were made against TV presenter Savile.
Scotland Yard said that a man in his sixties had been “further arrested on suspicion of sexual offences in connection with further allegations made”.

Starr was originally arrested under the “Savile and others” strand, but the re-arrest was not linked to Savile.
He has denied any wrongdoing.
Freddie Starr rearrested
COMEDIAN Freddie Starr was rearrested yesterday by police probing the Jimmy Savile sex abuse scandal.
Starr, 70, was quizzed all day over fresh allegations of sexual offences unrelated to his first arrest last November.
It is believed he was arrested as he answered bail at a police station near his home in Studley, Warwicks. The father of six was then bailed again until June.
Scotland Yard said yesterday’s questioning fell under an investigation strand called “others” — unconnected to Savile.
Starr was twice quizzed in November over claims he groped Karin Ward, then 14, after they appeared on Savile’s TV show Clunk Click in 1974.
Last year, Starr denied any wrongdoing, saying he had never met Karin. Video later emerged showing him alongside her and Savile.
